It is with great delight that I report on the most enchanting affair of the afternoon—a gathering of three most esteemed ladies at none other than Fleur de Thé, the city’s most exquisite purveyor of fine teas.
Adorned in their finest frocks and graced with the kind of laughter that turns heads (and stirs whispers), these radiant darlings indulged in delicate lavender-infused delights, warm scones dripping with honey, and, of course, the most fragrant of teas served in porcelain fit for a duchess.
It is said that the bonds of sisterhood are best strengthened over steaming cups and whispered confidences, and indeed, this afternoon proved no exception. What secrets were shared? What romances discussed? Ah, dear reader, some mysteries are best left to the imagination…

I am at Stevens Pass as I write this, and it is beautiful. It is a winter wonderland: mountain peaks, snow-covered trees, and skiers shredding. It’s spectacular!
But I love spring. And, I am so excited for the growing season and all that this new, fresh year has in store for our little lavender farm.

Have you propagated hydrangeas? This is my first attempt.
So far, so good. And, the price is right - free. 😊
Here’s how I did it:
1. Take a Cutting: Snip a healthy flower-less stem from the mother plant, cutting a few inches below a leaf node.
2. Prep the Cutting: Remove all but the top leaves, then trim the largest leaves in half. This helps the cutting focus on root production instead of feeding the leaves. (This step is especially helpful if you’re starting in soil.)
3. Place in Water: Pop the cutting in a jar of water and wait. In 4-6 weeks, you’ll start to see roots forming! 🪴
4. Pot It Up: Once the cutting has a good root system, plant it in soil. I use Happy Frog potting mix for a great start.
5. Create a Cozy Environment: I keep my cuttings on a wire rack over a heat mat and under grow lights to encourage growth.
