What We’ve Been Doing

Our stats, roughly -
1,400+ plants
3 bee stings, so ⤵️
60-something plants left for the 🐝
87 ounces of essential oil
12 1/2 gallons of hydrosol
A few hundred bundles.
Many sore muscles.
And, a whole lot of bud to be processed when we are rested.

Harvest time! I’m so happy with this year’s crop. It’s beautiful, and a little hard to harvest because it’s just so pretty. But, the oil from these two varieties is equally wonderful. We’re back at it again today, harvesting Grosso and Super.

Meanwhile, over on the west side of Washington, our sweet little crop of Sweet Peas is in full bloom—looking like a backyard party in full swing! 🌸
These old-fashioned, romantic blooms are pure magic. Their bright colors, heavenly scent, and nostalgic charm are such a mood booster. 💕
This weekend, my grandmother and I are thrilled to be attending the book signing and farm tour at Sweet Pea School—we’re absolutely over the moon! 🤩
And here’s some happy news: thanks to a little garden experiment at my parents’ place, I’ve learned that Sweet Peas grow beautifully in the Methow too. I can’t wait to plant a crop alongside our lavender field one day soon. 💐💜

I’m Monica—lead farmer, dreamer, and lavender lover at Methow Valley Lavender in beautiful North Central Washington. Our small farm is truly my happy place. I love sharing our journey with you as we grow this little slice of lavender heaven.
I started this business because I’ve always believed in the beauty and healing power of nature. There’s just something about being outside in the fresh mountain air, surrounded by blooming lavender, bees buzzing, and birds singing—it does wonders for my soul (and my nervous system!). 🐝🌱
When I’m not in the fields, you’ll find me in my other role as a Clinical Social Worker, supporting children and families in my therapy office. And at the end of the day, I’m home with my husband Mark, our two sweet dogs, Fergus and Fin, and—on the very best days—spending time with our four grown kids. 🥰

Our first wreath making class (lavender crown class?) was a hit! We sat in the shade, shared many laughs, sipped a little wine, enjoyed the lavender fragrance and made some beautiful wreaths.
It was really fun!
