Hi. Iβm Monica. Washington’s Methow Valley has been a special place for our family since the 1990s when we began vacationing here at our family’s cabins along the Methow River. By the late 1990s, my parents relocated to the Valley.
My husband, Mark, and I, our children, and my siblings and their families have created so many wonderful memories here. Weβve celebrated birthdays, a 50th Anniversary, holidays, neighborhood parties, and dinners around Mom and Dad’s table. Most memorably, we celebrated a beautiful wedding along the river, just down from our lavender field. Even on regular evenings, when we sit and watch the deer forage or the quail scurry about with their many babies, it feels like something special is always going on here, thanks to the beauty of nature.
We have lived in different parts of the country and traveled all over the world, but the Methow Valley has always been our anchor. The place we call home. The place where weβve always come to reset, connect, and celebrate.
It is our great privilege to share some of the lavender-infused Methow Valley with you.
Our affinity for lavender farming began with my Grandma Sylvia, in Kingston, Washington, in the early 2000s. A self-taught gardener and natural green thumb,Β she successfully grew, harvested, and hand-processed lavender products to sell at farmerβs markets and to other farmers. Today, she is our chief consultant and has a pivotal role in all of our plant selection and farming methods. With my Grandmotherβs expertise and guidance, we hope to grow our business and share a piece of the Valley with you.
Lavender & an MG?
We think it makes sense. Like our farm, it has a story. My Dad lovingly restored his 1953 MG to its current beauty many years ago, and this little treasure holds many endearing memories for our family. It has an impressive rΓ©sumΓ© of car shows and parades, but its biggest accolade is when my Dad walked (or in this case, drove) my sister down the aisle on her wedding day. We think this sweet ride deserves to be in the limelight again, this time as part of Methow Valley Lavender, parked next to a field of purple lavender.
Our Vision
Our vision is to help others experience the Methow Valley by embracing tranquility and elevating well-being through the timeless beauty and therapeutic essence of high-quality lavender products made in the Methow Valley.
Our Belief
We believe in cultivating moments of peace and serenity through the subtle sweetness of lavender.
Our Values
- Sustainability βΒ We use conscientious farming practices and eco-friendly packaging wherever possible, in efforts to both preserve and improve our environment.
- Stewardship βΒ We are committed to this land, and we intend to leave it in good health for future generations.
- Creativity β We enjoy creating new products, experimenting with new lavender varieties, and the creative process of building our business.
The History of Our Land
With reverence, we acknowledge that the Methow Valley is the traditional homeland of the original Methow (mΙtxΚ·u) who have continuously lived here for over 13,000 years. Our land also has a rich farming history β as an apple orchard, then a hay field, and now a lavender field. Evidence of the orchard can still be seen in the wooden water troughs that line the hillside. Still today, many deer, turkeys, quail, and an occasional bear forage in the hills and drink from the river. To learn more, please visit the Methow Valley Interpretive Center.
Ooo, the contrast of red roses and lavender is quite striking, I think. β₯οΈπ
Dried lavender can last for years, and while itβs beautiful all on its own, itβs also kind of fun to add another flower for something a little extra.
I bought these roses from the grocery store and put them in silica gel crystals months ago (and then forgot about them until today). π
Have you dried flowers in silica crystals? Do you have any lavender bouquets to dress up? If not, I happen to have a few. π

What a joyful time at the Northwest Flower & Garden Show. I got to help out fellow lavender farm friends, Don and Astrid of Astridβs Lavender Farm of Gig Harbor. They are the sweetest people, and some of the hardest workers I know. It was so fun talking to visitors of their booth about lavender. And, the show was pretty incredible with wonderful garden scenes in the main exhibition hall, fantastic speakers, including the Sweet Pea Queen, Marryn Mathis. Fun to watch the Container Showdown Celebrity edition with people I didnβt recognize but have been on Netflix shows.
The atmosphere was great, down to earth, friendly gardeners and farmers. I soaked it up!

Why not add cut flowers to the mix? And what could go wrong starting out way too ambitious? π π

The peonies are in the ground! Isnβt it wild how something gorgeous starts off looking so humble? They definitely go through a major transformation.
Thank you @devroomenus for the gorgeous peony roots. And huge thanks to @ben_shallow02 @dylan.shallow @sabrinadebont and my mom, Terri for lending a hand in the field! Iβd still be digging in the dirt for ages without you all.
Thatβs a wrap on the 2025 farming season! Now, time to process this yearβs harvest. π
Thatβs a wrap on the 2025 growing season! The plants are sooo good. Very healthy, and they seem to be happy living their high dessert Methow Valley life.
Next up - field prep for peonies!! My Dad is out there digging a trench for the next irrigation line.
I canβt wait to have peonies blooming in the field.

It was a good day. π€So thankful to Denise and my Mom for helping me prune!! They are the best! Thankful to my Dad for all the help settings up our new container. It feels like progress. Little by little, weβre building this little farm of ours. π₯°
And the praying mantis - they are just so cool and we have a lot of them.

We were pruning, propagating, and prepping for a container to store our equipment (Because my parents said, βEnoughβ to storing it in their barn and cabins.π), and cooling off in the river. It`s almost Fall, but it`s still hot in the Valley. And, unfortunately, smokey. π¬
Once again, thank you to my Mom and Dad for all their help. Because of them, we are making progress on our farm.
